Use: Asian and indian dishes, curry, chutney, pita bread, vegetable stews, lentil dishes and fish.
Tip: To reach the full flavour and aroma of fenugreek we recommend lighly roasting the seeds in a pan. This will also contribute to neutralise the bitter taste.
Interesting history: Fenugreek is packed with vitamins and an ancient healer which is thought to have it's origin around the north of india. As long ago as 3700 b.c. the spice was already very popular in China and known for its medicinal qualities; one of these being expectorant. Via arabia and persia the spice gradually crept over to egypt and later on central europe.
Nowadays it will wildly grow all over asia, india, west africa, southern und south-east europe. It has become a key element in the cooking world.
