product descriptionAnchos are dried "Poblano" chilis. They bring along a very mild heat level and a special, aromatic and fruity sweet taste. The smell is a reminder of raisins and tobacco. Just like Pasilla and Mulato chilis, the Anchos are a key ingredient in the classic mexican national dish "Mole".
Anchos are especially often used in the beloved "Mole Poblano" together with dark chocolate or cocoa. Furthermore they are easy to fill with extras such as rice; but beforehand they should rest in hot water for a few minutes. Otherwise they can also be cooked directly with your meal for 10-15 min. when for example cooking a "Chili con Carne". Finely chopped, the dried flakes of the Ancho will develop the unique aroma after just a short time.
