In europe coriander has been used since mediaeval times. Its origin lies around the eastern mediterranean area. The citrus aroma is indispensable in many oriental spice mixtures including garam masala. Whereas the central european cuisine tend to use the dried coriander seeds, the asian and south american cooks prefer using the fresh leaves in their dishes.
Coriander helps with digestion, rises appetit and has antibacteriel properties.
